Rising Stars Success Stories

Three of this year's Rising Stars, who received their awards at the Annual Dinner in March, have already shown that they are on track to be stars of the future.

Nicholas Pyle, who was already the British Seniors 50m backstroke champion, joined forces with Adam Peaty, James Guy and Duncan Scott to win gold in the European 4 x 100m medley relay. Nick is part of a very strong team that will be hoping to develop even further over the next two years to become medal contenders at the Olympics in Tokyo. For the present it is back to juggling early morning training with studying for his A-levels at St. Cuthbert's High School, Newcastle.

Jess Baker, is another of this year's Rising Stars who has recently achieved national selection. After coming 2nd at the England Girls u16 Open Amateur Championships held in Dorset, Jess has been selected to represent England in an international match against Switzerland. For someone so young, Jess is already showing great potential and is definitely someone to look out for in the next few years.

In June 11 year old Toby Aberdeen qualified to represent G.B. at the World Traithle Championships (triathle is a competition involving the 3 disciplines of pistol shooting, running and swimming). If that wasn't a big enough achievement in itself Toby has also been selected for the England u20 pistol shooting squad - at the age of 11! His star is certainly rising!
