Sport Newcastle celebrated it's 52nd Annual Awards Dinner in the presence of patrons Sir John Hall and Alan Shearer CBE along with vice-presidents, Stephen Miller MBE and Jonathon Edwards CBE. The well attended event, presented by Roger Tames, Dawn Thewlis and Ian Payne, saw winners from a wide range of sports receive their awards.

The evening also saw the launch of Sport Newcastle's 'Destination Tokyo 2020 and beyond' fund raising campaign to raise £20,000 to provide prospective Olympians and Paralympians with funding to support their efforts to compete at a future Olympic Games.
