Dan Dixon, Sport Newcastle's Young Sporting Achievement of the Year winner in 2021, received exciting news this week from Triathlon England. Jess Baker, 2018 Sport Newcastle Rising Star, recently became only the 5th English winner of the 119th Women's Amateur Championship. Jess came through several rounds of the knock-out competition to beat Swedish golfer Louise Rydquist in the final 4 & 3. Sport Newcastle's Annual Golf Day took place at Ponteland Golf Club on 30th June. Despite showery weather in the afternoon, 27 teams of 4 players enjoyed a course in excellent condition and a competitive Texas Scramble.
