Charity Golf Day: 30th June 2017

Team Northumbria: Winners of the George Bayley Trophy 2017

(Matthew Heels, Chris Bucktrout, Matthew Naylor, David Goodchild)

This year's golf day was held at Matfen Hall Golf Club. 20 teams turned up on an overcast day, but the competition was anything but dull. Team Northumbria just managed to overcome a great challenge by Priory Safety Services to win the Texas Scramble event by 1 point. In 3rd place a further 0.3 points behind were last year's winners, Siemens.

Winners of individual prizes for nearest the pin on the par 3's were: Sue Crawford (Crawford Higgins), Ian Hopkinson (Trendsetting Awards), Jack Wright and Elliot Bayley (both from Priory Safety Services). Peter Kirkpatrick (Metropolitan Financial Planning) won the putting competition.

The event, sponsored by Tier One Capital, was hugely successful and raised over £5,500. Steve Black, Managing Director, Tier One Capital said, "I am delighted to support such a worthwhile charity that me and my dad have been associated with for many years. It's great to see so many people here enjoying themselves and at the same time raising funds for such a good cause."

Thanks also to Bede Gaming for sponsoring the nearest the pin prizes, to Barclays Bank for match funding the raffles and especially to Matfen Hall for providing prizes and putting on a brilliantly organised event.

We hope to see everyone back again next year on Friday 29th June 2018.
