Sport Newcastle Rising Star 2019- Jason Nicholson

Jason Nicholson is 19 years old competing in athletics, currently studying at Northumbria University. He’s based at Gateshead Harrier, the regions most famous club and competes in the high hurdles. Jason has won a range of competitions, he won gold for the 110 metres at the English Under 20 and Under 23 Championship. He then moved on to the Worlds junior championships where he reached the final and finished an impressive fifth. By August he was representing Great Britain in a triangular Under 20 International with another hurdles victory.

The 2019 Rising Star Awards were sponsored by North East based SOS Group, an independent leader in providing organisations across the UK and abroad with printers, copiers, MFDs, Document Management Solutions and support services.
