Tri-umph for our Scholars

Emily Large completed an unprecedented tri-ple at the recent British Junior Swimming Championships.

Gold medals in the Womens 16 years butterfly 50m, 100m and 200m showed just how versatile and talented Emily is. Her continued progress as one of the best young swimmers in Britain is amazing.

Emily has an exciting August ahead as she will be competing at the World Junior Championships in Indianapolis before getting her GCSE results at the end of August.

Calum Johnson celebrated gaining his degree by competing in two tri-athlons in June. A good result, finishing 5th at the British Championships at Blenheim Palace, was a great boost for Calum's next race, a European Cup event in Holland.

After a good swim, Calum settled in to the lead pack during the cycle phase before taking the lead after 2.5k of the run. Calum held on to his lead to come 1st in what was a very high quality event. With his studies behind him Calum will be able to focus more on his athletics career in the future.

Next up for Calum is the European U23 Championships later this month.
