Newcastle United Women’s Football Club announces that the First Team Manager Neil Baistow and Head Coach Melanie Reay have decided to leave to club at the end of the 2009 / 2010 season.
The NUWFC Committee and Players would like to thank Neil and Melanie for their outstanding commitment to the club over the last few years and wish them well with their future footballing careers.
Phil Eadon Chairman of NUWFC said ‘Neil and Melanie have both been a big part of this club. Their commitment and dedication to running the club and developing the players over the last few years has been fantastic. This last year Melanie stepped up from being a top class player, who won the Golden Boot, to being Head Coach. They will be a hard act to follow. The NUWFC committee are dedicated to the on going development of the club and will be advertising for their replacements over the coming weeks.”
Neil Baistow and Melanie Reay released a joint statement, “It is has taken a lot of thought to come to the decision but we feel that the time is right for fresh impetus and fresh enthusiasm to drive the club forward. We can look back on our time in charge with a great deal of pride and happiness as we have many fond memories. We leave with the satisfaction that the club is in a healthy position both on and off the pitch.”
