Ian Elvin was awarded the Wilkinson Sword Trophy for a double decade of dedication to Sport Newcastle. In a fitting tribute, Alan Younger, who recently took over from Ian as Chair, spoke eloquently when describing his service as ‘above and beyond the call of duty’.
Ian, along with Malcolm Dix, oversaw the development of Sport Newcastle over the years and gave his time and expertise to build the Trust into the organisation that it is today. He steps down to focus on his role as Director of Sport for the University of Northumbria.
